The guide is not responsible in case of impossibility of purchasing insurance on site. The insurance must cover all cases when engaging in extreme sports, particularly mountaineering. Mandatory coverage includes medical, transportation expenses, and expenses for helicopter evacuation.

In Chamonix valley, the mountain rescue service PGHM is operating.
